About Us

Blount Development Group, LLC is a family owned and operated residential and commercial development company. With two offices in Florida (Leesburg and Orlando) and one office in Tennessee (Nashville/Metro), Blount Development Group focuses on the Southeastern US with primary emphasis on FL, GA, TN, and TX.  

Blount Development is headed by Rick Blount. Rick's family has been in the building/developing business in Central Florida since the early 1950's when Rick's father, Bob, started in his construction career in 1952. Bob was responsible for over seeing the construction of many of Florida's highways and bridges in the 1950's and 60's. He eventually went on to own a commerical and residential construction company in Central Florida.

Today, Rick's firm, Blount Development Group, purchases and develops both commercial and residential projects often times using a joint venture arrangement with other developers, institutional investors or the land owners themselves.

Three generations of the Blount family are currently at Blount Development Group, LLC. Bob Blount, while semi retired, is still  active as a  project  consultant for the firm.  Jason Blount, Rick's oldest son, is also on the acquisitions team.

Harvey (Ed) Harnage heads up the Nashville/Metro office for Blount, overseeing the current "Spring Creek" residential project and several other future commercial and residential projects in Middle TN. Ed has over 20 years experience in commercial and industrial construction in TN, AL, and VA including eight years with Jones Brothers Construction where he oversaw the construction of eight hwy bridges on I-75 in Chattanooga TN. His most recent employment before joining Blount, was with General Electric Supply Co. in Nashville.
